Cancellation Policy 

If for any reason, you need to cancel or reschedule your session or lesson please let us know at least 24 hours in advance. 

We understand that this is not always possible.  In such event, with the exception of emergencies and inclement weather (see below), your full payment is due and appreciated.

In Case of Inclement Weather 

Voice Lessons - We follow the school districts' lead, and cancel voice lessons when school districts close.  If your school district has closed, or has canceled after-school activities, you are not expected to come for your lesson.  It is often still possible to have a lesson if you choose to brave the roads.  In this case, please contact Sharon directly to confirm.

Feldenkrais sessions or classes -  An exception to the above cancellation policy is made in case of inclement weather.  Please do not feel obligated to drive in unsafe conditions if the weather is poor and roads are bad.  A phone call or email is appreciated.  Thank you!

Payment Policy

Payment for services is due at the time of your appointment.  We accept checks, cash and PayPal payments. 

We realize that in today's economy, many folks are living on a limited income. When appropriate we offer sliding scale fees.  If you are in need, please don't hesitate to ask.  We will make every attempt to work with you to find a mutually agreeable solution.

Withdrawal Policy

In order for Body Song to honor the following policy, students or their guardians must notify Sharon in writing when withdrawing.

For voice students, two weeks notification is required before terminating ongoing lessons.

Failure to attend a lesson, session, class or workshop does not constitute official withdrawal.

Missed lessons

It is our expectation that 24 hour notice is given when missing a lesson.  We understand that this is not always possible.  In such event, with the exception of emergencies, your full payment is due and appreciated.  

With the exception of illness, it is best if a make-up lesson can be scheduled to ensure the student's continued growth.  Please contact Sharon to schedule a make-up lesson. We will do our best to accommodate.

Professional Policies

As a Guild Certified Feldenkrais Practitioner, we proudly adhere to certain policies set forth by the Feldenkrais Guild of North America such as a Code of Professional Conduct, Ethics, and Standards of Practice.  To view these and other professional policies, please click here to visit the Guild site.  

Confidentiality 

We agree to protect confidentiality of any conversation between us and the client/student as well as any information that may be considered privileged information.

Deposits: There is a $50 non-refundable deposit required for course registration.  All payments can be made by check, money order, or online via PayPal.  Please make checks payable to: Sharon Costianes 14 Porter Hill Rd. Ithaca, NY 14850

Cancellation Policy: Classes may need to be canceled if enrollment is low, due to an emergency, or if the roads have been officially closed due to bad weather. We often hold courses open until 24 hours before the first class meeting. If a class is canceled, we will make every effort to call you, so be sure to list both day, evening and message phone numbers (with area code) when you register.

You are also welcome to contact Sharon at (607) 227-7590 to confirm class status. In the case of a cancellation, you will receive a full refund by check or credit card depending on how you paid. Please allow ample time for refund check processing and credit card account transactions.

Refund Policy: Refunds are issued only in the following circumstances:

1. A full refund is automatically issued if a class is canceled.

2. If you would like a refund, a written request must be received by Sharon Costianes, 7 days prior to the first class meeting. Refunds will be made by check or credit card depending on how you paid minus a $50 non-refundable deposit fee.  Please allow ample time for refund check processing and credit card account transactions.  Enrollment cancellations received after the refund deadline and up to 2 days before the start of class will be issued a Letter of Credit for class fees, less a $20 processing charge. No phone requests for refunds or letters of credit will be accepted. Please allow 2-4 weeks to process requests.

3. Once a class has begun, no partial refund or letter of credit will be issued for any reason, including illness, travel, or classes postponed because of circumstances beyond our control.

Classroom Policy: Due to liability regulations, only enrolled students may attend a class or workshop. Please arrive early if you wish to discuss the class content with the instructor.
